Get Involved on Campus
From student organizations to a campus arboretum, there are a lot of opportunities on campus for you explore.
- Academic Lifestyle Program allows students who share a common interest to live on the same residence hall floor. Some of the lifestyle floors include: Environmental, Leadership and Service, Politics and Government, Social Justice, and Wellness)
- Alternative Spring Break gives you the chance to do something that is both memorable and rewarding. Their goal “is to move enthusiastic, giving students from being heartfelt volunteers toward becoming active, lifelong, participatory citizens and agents for social change, committed to social justice”.
- Fell Arboretum Project Did you know that the whole ISU campus is a registered arboretum?
- Green Fluence is group of students interested in Green Building and Green Design. The group meets the last Tuesday of every month at 5:30 in Turner Hall.
- Green Team and its subcommittees welcome participation from the entire campus community. Just come to a meeting or contact us at greenteam@ilstu.edu.
- Illinois State Horticulture Center Follow the campus Constitution Trail past the University Golf Course and you will find yourself at ISU’s Horticulture Center. Here you can see native prairie grasses, a children’s garden, a perennial garden, and much more.
- Outdoor Adventure Coordinator Club organizes environmental presentations and helps to plan trips through the Recreation Department’s Outdoor Adventure program
- Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) is a registered student organization “that works to protect the environment and our future.” They strive to educate campus and the local community about the environmental problems created by modern society.
- Student Environmental Health Association (SEHA) “is an official chapter of the National Environmental Health Association and the Illinois Environmental Health Association. SEHA takes an active role in providing students opportunity for involvement with club-sponsored events as well as professional meetings throughout Illinois.”
- Student Government Association is “committed to proactively effecting change in the best interests of the student body; furthering the cultural and social growth of the student body; and generally advocating the interests of the student body to the University and community.”
- Students Today, Leaders Forever is a registered student organization whose mission is “To reveal leadership through service, relationships, and action.”
