The Green Team at Illinois State University is committed to educating ISU students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community about environmental stewardship.
The “greening” of college and university campuses is growing in importance and necessity worldwide. Illinois State University understands the need for colleges and universities to maintain sustainable practices through building maintenance, purchasing, recycling and much more.
Some of the efforts to “Green” Illinois State are highlighted in this section.
As the cold weather approaches, now is the time to think about how to save money on your heating bill. Your furnace will run more efficiently if you change/clean your furnace filler. Also, the air will circulate better if you vacuum out your vents and registers. If you are changing out your furnace filter, think about switching to a reusable filter it may cost a little more up front, but it will save you money in the long run and it will be one less thing that goes to the landfill.
